The next Contra Costa Watershed Forum meeting is coming up on March 8th. This meeting will be held in west Contra Costa, at San Francisco Estuary Institute’s (SFEI’s) offices. The topic is GIS in Watersheds, using this tool to create solutions to common problems in the watershed world.
- Janet Sowers will share her project mapping creeks and watersheds throughout the Bay Area. She has created a series of maps, available in print and digitally, that the public can use to understand and explore their watersheds. She will tell us about this process and showcase some of her work, which is available through the Oakland Museum of California
- Anthony Falzone & Sarah Puckett will share their project mapping restoration and stormwater projects in the San Pablo, Wildcat, and Rheem Creek Watersheds. This type of mapping database can help us plan projects on a watershed level, understanding how projects, present and future, will affect a watershed.
