 n emphasis on understanding past conditions and events\, a comprehensi
 ve overview of current activities and who is behind them\, inspiration
 al initiatives from inside and outside the region\, trends\, challenge
 s and opportunities over the long term\, and a discussion on the crisi
 s in the Delta and renewed calls for construction of a peripheral cana
