Agenda
9:00 Coffee, juice and bagels. The County Community Development Department and Contra Costa Resource Conservation District will bring food, coffee and juice; donations are accepted (please bring a mug to minimize our use of paper or plastic cups).
9:30 Roundtable news/updates, including, but not limited to, the following items:
· Welcome from Cindy Wells, Clyde Community Center
· Watershed Roundtable (all).
· Committee and Project Updates
o Executive Committee Report.
o Reminder on submitting the 2006/2007 Contra Costa Watershed Forum Awards nominations. Due 9-21-07. Awardees will be selected by the CCWF Executive Comm. Meeting on 10-10-07. (Kae Ono, CCC Community Development Dept.)
o Update on the Volunteer Creek Monitoring Program (Michelle Luebke, CCC Community Development Dept.)
o Update on the Third Quadrennial Creek and Watershed Symposium to be held on 11-15-07 in Walnut Creek (John Kopchik, CCC Community Development Dept).
10:00 Presentation on the Mount Diablo Creek Watershed Planning Process (Linda Ballentine, Contra Costa Resource Conservation District).
10:20 Update on the Contra Costa Historical Ecology Project (Abby Fateman, CCC Community Development Dept. and Robin Grossinger, SF Estuary Institute).
10:45 “Peyton Slough – New Beginning” -- Presentation on the significant restoration work completed on the wetland complex near the Benicia Bridge (Mary Brown, Sr. Project Manager from Rhodia, Arnd Lilie, Resident Engineer & Construction Manager from URS, and Francesca Demgen, Wetland Biologist from URS)
11:30 Adjourn to the November 15th Creek and Watershed Symposium in Walnut Creek.
11:45 Guided Tour of the Peyton Slough Restoration Site in Martinez, near Marina Vista Exit on Hwy 680. Free lunch will be provided!! Tour participants will caravan to the site.
The CCWF will provide reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities planning to attend CCWF meetings who contact Kae Ono at least 24 hours before the meeting. Agenda items for the CCWF meetings are discussed by the Executive Committee. The next Executive Committee is scheduled for October 10 at lunch time. This is a special meeting when the EC decides to select award recipients for the2006/2007 Contra Costa Watershed Forum Award program.
