Agenda  

9:00     Coffee, juice and bagels.  Contra Costa County Department of Conservation and Development will bring food, coffee and juice; donations are accepted (please bring a mug to minimize our use of paper or plastic cups).

 

9:30     Welcome (Lois Boyle, the President of the Richmond Museum Association)

 

9:40     Roundtable news/updates, including, but not limited to, the following items:

              o        Watershed Roundtable (all)

              o        Committee and Project Updates

              o       Executive Committee Report

              o       Update on the Historical Ecology Assessment (Abby Fateman, CCC Department of Conservation and Development)

              o       Update on the Volunteer Creek Monitoring Program (Michelle Luebke, CCC Department of Conservation and Development)

 

10:05   Linking Watersheds to the Bay: Technical and Political Considerations (Josh Collins, San Francisco Estuary Institute)

            o           Sediment and Water Relations

            o           Mitigation Action Plan

            o           From Restoration to Design

            o           In the Context of Climate Change

 

10:50   San Pablo Bay Watershed Restoration Program (Marc Holmes, the Bay Institute)

 

11:15  Community stakeholder position(s) for the Contra Costa County Integrated Pest Management Advisory Board (for County owned and/or operated facilities) (Susan JunFish, Parents for a Safer Environment) 

 

11:30   Adjourn to the September 10, 2008 meeting

 

11:40 – 12:10  Optional Tour of the Red Oak Victory, which saw service in World War II, Korea and Vietnam  (Craig Riordan, Park Ranger, National Park Service)

SS Red Oak Victory:

From I-580, take the Canal Blvd. Exit
Continue on Canal Blvd to 1337 Canal Blvd.  Continue to the Berth 6A

Visitors need to be aware that the ship is berthed in an active Port area. Monday through Friday, heavy industrial equipment is operating along the roadways en route to the ship. A 5 mph speed limit is to be observed in the industrial area. Please watch for the red and white directional signs starting at gate 2.
