Meeting of the Contra Costa Watershed Forum

Agenda

 

9:00     Coffee, juice and bagels.  Contra Costa County Department of Conservation and Development will bring food, coffee and juice; donations are accepted (please bring a mug to minimize our use of paper or plastic cups).

 

9:30     Welcome from the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District

9:40     Roundtable news/updates, including, but not limited to, the following items:

·        Watershed Roundtable (all)

·        Committee and Project Updates

o       Executive Committee Report

o       Update on the Historical Ecology Assessment (John Kopchik, CCC Department of Conservation and Development)

 

9:55     Presentation on new report from the Public Policy Institute of California that concluded that the “Peripheral Canal is the Best Strategy To Save Delta Ecosystem, Ensure Reliable Water Supply”.  Presentation will be made by  Jay R. Lund an author of the report and Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and an associate director of the Center for Watershed Sciences at the University of California, Davis.

 

10:50   Information presentation on Proposed Open Space Bond Measure (Measure WW, an extension of Measure AA, 1988) and relationship to creek and watershed issues  (Bob Doyle, East Bay Regional Park District)

11:10   Update on the Volunteer Creek Monitoring Program (Michelle Luebke, CCC Department of Conservation and Development)

 

11:30   Adjourn to the November 12, 2008 meeting
