Peripheral canal meeting in Brentwood
The State Department of Water Resources (DWR) is planning the construction of a peripheral canal around the Delta. One of the alignments goes through eastern Contra Costa County, from approximately Sherman Island to Clifton Court Forebay. The Bay Delta Conservation Plan (BDCP) is an effort to determine the impacts of constructing a peripheral canal. The state is seeking input and comments from residents in Contra Costa County and will be holding a meeting in Brentwood on Monday March 23, 2009, from 6pm to 10pm at 730 Third Street.
